Title:
The Women and Regeneration Project
The Women and Regeneration
Project was a three-year community research and development project
looking at the role and involvement of women in urban regeneration
programmes in London.
It was led by the Women's Design Service (WDS), with Planning Aid
for London (PAL) and the Association of Greater London Older Women
(AGLOW) as consortium partners.
The Project received funding from
the Community Fund London between 1999 and 2001. A part-time Community
Researcher and a part-time Community Development Worker staffed
the Project. A Steering Group, consisting of consortium members,
Project volunteers and others with an interest in women and regeneration,
guided the Project through its work.
The Project aimed:
- to build the capacity of women
to enable them to influence the decisions and policies of their
regeneration partnership boards.
The Project produced a good practice
guidance publication (Re-Moving the Goalposts: Perspectives on Women
and Regeneration), based on this project work and associated background
research.
