MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION

Womens Design Service is a registered charity and a company limited by guarantee. The organisation was incorporated in 1987 with the following objects:-

1. to promote good standards of architecture and planning with particular reference to women especially women from ethnic minorities and women with disabilities
2. to advance education through the provision of information and/or advice to women relating to architecture, associated design services and the built environment
3. to undertake research into the above areas and to make public the useful results of any such research.

Over the years Womens Design Service has been at the forefront of many issues relating to women and the urban environment and has produced a number of publications based on action research. Issues include:-

women and regeneration
women with disabilities
older women and housing
accessible offices
provision for small children
women and safety
tenant participation
public conveniences

There is currentl an annual subscription of �5 (�1 unwaged) Please make cheques payable to Women's Design Service.

Members receive an invitation to our AGM, the opportunity to become elected to our Management Committee and a 10% reduction on the price of our publications. We are also working on expanding our website and there will be a members area with discussion forums set up by autumn 2003.
