OUR CURRENT COMMITTEE

Julie Lewis has been the Chair since April 1997. She is a tenant on the Five Estates regeneration project we worked on in South London from 1993-96 and is active in a number of community organisations and initiatives in Southwark. Julie is a retired teacher, and is involved in a mentoring scheme for black young people at Goldsmiths College. Julie is on sabbatical at present.

Dr Anja Rudiger is Vice Chair and is Acting Chair in Julie's absence. Anja is a political theorist with practical experience in gender and racial equality issues. She currently works for the UK Secretariat of the European Monitoring Centre on Racism and Xenophobia (EUMC). Previously, Anja ran a small gender consultancy firm, working with donor agencies to mainstream gender into international development policies. Anja's publications focus on issues of equality and diversity, with a specific emphasis on processes of democratisation.

Dr Anja Rudiger

Elizabeth Rawson has been Treasurer since November 1997, and part of the MC since 1994. She is a practitioner and researcher who specialises in urban regeneration and town centre management issues; she also has experience in property development.
