Director: Barbra Wallace

Barbra was appointed as Director of the Women’s Design Service in October 2008. Her background is in social science, management & entrepreneurship and she has extensive experience of setting up and developing charitable, not-for-profit and social enterprises. She has recently completed a PhD in Muslim women’s entrepreneurship in east London.

Barbra is an experienced urban regeneration practitioner, with particular knowledge of asset & workspace management and has worked with a wide range of marginalised communities and groups in Liverpool, Manchester & London. Passionate about women’s rights, Barbra is a trustee of a community-based ethnic minority women’s organisation and of the Fawcett Society. email: bwallace@wds.org.uk

Office Manager : Hannah Carty

Hannah joined WDS in November 2005 and is responsible for all administrative & office management duties at WDS, as well as taking care of the organisation's bookkeeping and financial reporting.

Hannah is also a freelence illustrator and puts her artistic skills to use designing the WDS seasonal image each year. email: hcarty@wds.org.uk

Community Development Worker: Georgia Wrighton

Georgia started at WDS in November 2008 and is working on setting up Women's Design Groups across London in a 3 year project funded by London Councils. This year Geargia is setting up groups in Barnet, Redbridge, Westminster & Enfield.

Georgia has previoulsy worked as a Community Planner for Planning Aid & is currently a Green Party councillor for Brighton & Hove, where she is responsible for regeneration on the local strategic partnership (LSP). email: gwrighton@wds.org.uk
